Privacy Policy
Interval - HIIT & Tabata Timer
The short version
- We (Scribbaware) do not collect, store or sell any personal data.
- The app has no internet access. Your workouts, history and settings stay on your device.
- The optional “Buy me a coffee” button opens our Ko-fi page in your browser. The app itself sends nothing to Ko-fi.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs.
This Privacy Policy explains how the Interval - HIIT & Tabata Timer app (“the app”), developed by Scribbaware (“we”, “us”), handles information. By using the app you agree to this policy. If you have any questions, contact us at info@scribbaware.com.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information or usage data. The app has no user accounts, and we do not operate any server that receives data from the app. We never see who you are, where you are, or how you use the app.
The app does not request internet access, so it cannot send any information off your device.
2. Data stored on your device
The app stores the following locally on your device, so it can work and remember your choices:
- Workouts you create (names, intervals, durations and rounds);
- Workout history (date, workout name, planned and actual duration, and whether a workout was completed or stopped);
- Settings (sound, vibration, voice, countdown, theme and language).
This data never leaves your device through the app and is not accessible to us. It is deleted when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. You can also delete individual workouts and history entries in the app.
If you have turned on Android’s own backup (for example Google backup), Android may include this data in your personal device backup. That backup is managed by Google under your Google account and is not accessible to us.
3. Voice cues
Spoken cues (such as “Work” or “Three seconds left”) use the text-to-speech engine installed on your device. The app only passes these short, fixed phrases to that engine. Whether the engine processes anything further is determined by its provider, usually Google or your phone’s manufacturer.
4. Ko-fi
The app contains an optional “Buy me a coffee” button. Tapping it shows a short explanation, and only if you choose to continue does it open ko-fi.com/scribba in your web browser. Anything you do on Ko-fi, such as making a donation, is handled by Ko-fi under its own terms and privacy policy. The app itself sends no data to Ko-fi.
5. Data sharing and selling
We do not collect any data, so we have nothing to share. We do not share, sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose any user data to third parties.
6. Advertising, analytics and tracking
The app contains no advertising, no analytics tools, no crash-reporting services and no other third-party SDKs that collect data. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, advertising IDs or any other tracking technology.
7. Data retention and deletion
We do not retain any user data, because we do not collect any. Data stored locally by the app (see section 2) remains under your control and can be deleted at any time in the app, by clearing the app’s data in your device settings or by uninstalling the app.
8. Security
Data stored on your device is kept in the app’s private storage, which other apps cannot access. Because the app has no internet access, no data is transmitted.
9. Permissions
- Notifications: used to show the running workout with the time remaining, and pause and stop buttons.
- Foreground service (health) and wake lock: used so the timer, beeps and voice cues keep running on time with the screen off. Only active while a workout is running.
- Vibration: used to vibrate at each change between intervals.
- High sampling rate sensors: required by Android for the “health” foreground service type. The app does not read any sensors.
10. Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will make sure it is deleted.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the European Union), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. Since we do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is no data for us to provide, correct or delete. You are always welcome to contact us with any privacy question.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when the app gains new features. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. If a change significantly affects how the app handles data, we will mention it in the app’s release notes.
